THE OBITUARY PROJECT

Objective:

Raise awareness of opioid overdose risk while reducing the stigma.

 

 

Idea:  

We set up an interview scenario, where we asked people to read two obituaries for the same person, each written from a different perspective. We captured and published real reactions from people and encourage people to talk about it.

Print Execution: 

Place an obituary in the newspaper of someone who suffered from opioid addiction. The obituary will include kind words and memories from friends and family. The next day, we will publish a different obituary about the same person and in the same place. This obituary will complete the story by showing the other side of the story we don’t typically see.
